We use Cambridge Latin Course - Unit 1 (Fourth Edition) which gives the student a solid introduction to Latin. The text introduces vocabulary in each stage along with practice of the language through mastery of the declensions, conjugations, and grammatical rules. The text also has a variety of passages in each stage for the student to translate that will provide the student with sufficient practice to master the new material. The text also includes excellent information on the Roman life, culture, and history. There is an accompanying Workbook which provides additional practice and a Teacher's Manual which provides answers to the workbook exercises and the translations in the text. The Intro to Latin Syllabus has a day-by-day breakdown of this course along with quizzes, tests, answers to the quizzes and tests and a variety of teaching resources including Eighth and Ninth Grade Learning Objectives, and grading charts.
